Allison Hatcher
PhD, CCC-SLP
Owner & Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
As an SLP since 2005 and a mother of children who benefitted from early intervention and speech therapy services, I understand the value of having a compassionate and professional speech-language pathologist who can provide high-quality and individualized services to clients and families.

The ever-growing need for speech therapy services in our community over the last several years has inspired me to start my own company, Hatcher SLP. I offer a variety of services related to speech-language pathology and specialize in delivering those services virtually, or through telepractice. I have specialized training and published research in this area.

My educational background includes completing undergraduate and graduate degrees at Western Kentucky University, and later, my Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Kentucky. Additionally, I was trained in 2018 by an American Telemedicine Association-approved program in Maine. In 2021, I earned a Graduate Certificate in Telehealth from the University of Kentucky- the only one of its kind. I believe virtual SLP services should be fully implemented using best practices in a way that makes services comparable, if not better than, in-person services.
My professional and clinical experience includes providing evaluation and treatment services to children and adults with a variety of communication disorders; however, my primary focus has been working with pediatric populations.

My additional practice and instructive experience includes:

-
providing speech-language pathology services across a variety of settings (home-based early intervention, public schools, outpatient rehabilitation clinics, and hospitals);

-
training and certification in two Hanen Parent Programs® (includes the telepractice certifications, It Takes Two to Talk® and More Than Words®);

-
delivering evidence-based, parent-implemented early language interventions and empowering families and caregivers to be the primary agents of change in their child’s communication development;

-
conducting research in child language, caregiver-implemented interventions, and telepractice;

-
publishing in peer-reviewed professional journals in early childhood education and speech-language pathology;

-
training speech-language pathology students for over 12 years at a university-based clinic to implement effective and evidence-based treatment strategies with clients who have communication disorders;

-
instructing university courses on communication development, speech and language disorders, cognitive-communication disorders, and telepractice;

-
providing professional trainings, including presentations at state and national conferences, on child language intervention, telepractice, and other speech therapy-related topics; and

-
providing caregiver-implemented language intervention for youth with or at risk for language impairment in a children’s home in Latin America.
While I have a passion for helping children and adults communicate effectively and confidently, I want to share that my greatest joy is being a wife and a mother to my three children.
Thank you for taking an interest in Hatcher SLP!
